I attribute my affinity for bodies of water because of my home state, Minnesota. Minnesota is known as the “land of 10,000 lakes” but it actually has 11,000+. But who’s counting?
Yesterday, I realized Minnesota had a smell. Okay, hear me out. I had a very “Minny” day yesterday – here’s me and my friend Jade on a social distancing walk lol.
This lake is 5 (FIVE) minutes from me and I didn’t know it existed?¿ It’s on the Chiang Mai University campus (which is huge). Jade is from the UK but actually worked at a summer camp in Minnesota 3 years ago! We both agreed this lake loop really reminded us of Minny *cries*
While we were riding on her bike (read: my license test got postponed 😒) I put down the directions literally because I knew we were getting close because it just smelled like Minnesota? Like a lake, but more specific? MAJOR NOSTALGIA VIBES. Anyway, to top off my Minnesota day, I watched Contagion. Has anyone else watched that recently? It’s way too real and impressively relevant to what is going on right now.
But anyway, back to lakes – Hopefully when I go back to visit in October it won’t be too late to go out on the boat! But we will see!
